Afghan Ministry of Education
The Afghan Ministry of Education (AME) is integral to the success of this initiative. ASI works closely with the AME to select the students.
- The AME works with ASI to determine which provinces to select students.
- ASI with AME works with Directorship of Education of respective provinces.
- ASI gives the Directorship of Education a list of specifications, GPA, class rank, fluency in English to locate an applicant pool of 100-150 students.
- ASI administers a test of English language, math, and other subjects.
- ASI selects a short list of 20 top performers on the English fluency and subject tests.
- These candidates interview the committee comprised of ASI representatives and representatives of the AME. In interviews, ASI looks for English fluency, leadership skills, history of achievement, extracurricular activities, and the circumstances under which students achieved their accomplishments.
- ASI then picks the top two applicants for admission to US schools.
